My name is Nicole, and I founded Nicole Ward Designs with a simple mission: to help people transform from simply living in a space to truly loving their sanctuary. Based in the heart of Asheville, I draw constant inspiration from the textures and tones of our mountain landscape. Bringing that same organic, elevated, warmth into every home I touch.

A Shared Vision of Home
While NWD began with my personal passion for interiors, it has grown into a true family endeavor. My husband, Hunter Ward, works alongside me, bringing a technical eye and a shared dedication to the ‘how’ behind the ‘wow’. From brainstorming floor plans over dinner, to navigating the logistics of a complex renovation, having a partner who understands the bones of building as a licensed contractor makes all the difference. Together, we ensure that every design isn’t just a beautiful concept, but a perfectly executed reality.

exploring local antique shops or hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains with a coffee in hand. I enjoy nature and gardening. There is a specific kind of magic in watching things grow. I find my favorite color palettes in the wild architecture of a perennial bed and the soft, organic textures of Asheville’s landscape. My dogs are my constant shadows and daily reminder that a truly “elevated” home has to be livable, durable, and full of heart. Whether I’m lost in the canvas with a paintbrush, crocheting a new blanket, or getting caught in the pages of a great book, my hands are rarely still. These quiet moments of creating and reflecting are exactly where my most creative design ideas are born.
